EMAIL SETUP FOR IPHONE AND IPAD

STEP BY STEP GUIDE TO EMAIL SETUP ON APPLE MOBILE DEVICES

To set up your iPhone or iPad with another provider’s mailbox then find out and swap in their details when we mention ours. Right… Let’s get cracking!

STEP ONE

Grab your iPhone or iPad and tap on the ‘Settings‘ icon, its grey with gear cogs on.

STEP TWO

Scroll down and tap on ‘Mail, Contacts and Calendars‘.

STEP THREE

Tap ‘Add Account‘.

STEP FOUR

Tap on ‘Other‘.

STEP FIVE

Tap ‘Add Mail Account‘.

STEP SIX

Enter your name and the email address you wish to add along with the email address password (which can be found on the ‘Customer Open Account’ document provided to you by us).

Now enter a description to help recognise the mailbox alongside any others you might have.

Once this is done tap ‘Next‘.

STEP SEVEN

Now you have a choice, ‘IMAP‘  (prefered)or ‘POP‘?

POP‘ mailboxes store the emails locally on the device, for example once the email has been downloaded it can only be viewed and managed on that one device.

IMAP‘ stores the emails on the server which means it can be viewed and managed across any number of devices, it also means that if you delete it from one device it is also removed from all other devices, effectively ‘syncing‘ the mailbox across devices.

Tap either ‘IMAP‘ or ‘POP‘ and then enter imap.domain.co.za or pop.domain.co.za as the ‘Host Name‘.

The username is the full email address and the password is the email address password (which can be found on the ‘Customer Open Account’ document provided to you by us).

STEP EIGHT

Enter smtp.domain.co.za as the ‘Outgoing Host Name‘.

The username is the full email address and the password is the email address password (which can be found on the ‘Customer Open Account’ document provided to you by us).

Once all the settings have been entered tap on ‘Next‘.

STEP NINE

Make sure ‘Mail‘ is switched on and then tap on ‘Save‘.

Now go to the home screen and tap on the ‘Mail’ icon to open your emails.

ALL DONE!

That’s it!! your can now start sending and receiving emails. It’s always best to send a quick test email to yourself to make sure that it sends and receives ok.
